Why Bihar Still Remains One of India’s Most Backward States?

आज भी बिहार सबसे पिछड़ा राज्य क्यों है? 

भारत का इतिहास हो या संस्कृति, literature हो या intellectual power—Bihar हमेशा से एक powerhouse रहा है। Nalanda University, Chanakya, Aryabhatta, Gautam Buddha… ये सब Bihar ki महान legacy को reflect करते हैं।
लेकिन सवाल ये है कि इतने rich past के बावजूद आज Bihar को backward state क्यों कहा जाता है?
Is Blog में हम Bihar ke पिछले कई decades की ground realities ko समझने की कोशिश करेंगे— साफ, simple और honest तरीके से।

1. Industry का Almost Non-Existence

Bihar का सबसे बड़ा challenge है— Industry sector बहुत कमजोर है।

• Big companies Bihar में plant लगाने से डरती हैं

• Infrastructure (roads, power, logistics) पहले बहुत खराब था

• Investment-friendly environment develop नहीं हो पाया

• Result: factories नहीं → jobs नहीं → migration बढ़ा

आज भी लाखों लोग Delhi, Punjab, Mumbai, Gujarat जैसे states में काम करने जाते हैं क्योंकि Bihar में local earning का option ही बहुत कम है।

2. Massive Migration – Talent बाहर चला जाता है

Bihar का सबसे valuable resource है— human talent।

लेकिन वही talent state के बाहर settle हो जाता है क्योंकि:

• Bihar में jobs नहीं

• Education के बाद career options नहीं

• Skilled लोग वापस नहीं आना चाहते

इस वजह से Bihar लगातार एक worker-producing state बन गया है, development-producing state नहीं।

3. Political Instability और Long-term Planning की कमी

Bihar में कई साल तक राजनीति का main focus रहा— caste equations, vote bank, short-term gains.
Long-term development projects पर उतना ध्यान नहीं दिया गया।

• Roads decades तक खराब रहे

• Law and order ग़ैर-विश्वसनीय रही

• Investors को stability का भरोसा नहीं मिला

हालांकि पिछले 10–12 साल में situation improve हुई है, लेकिन decades की backlog आज भी Bihar को slow कर रही है।

4. Floods + Geography = Economic Loss हर साल

बिहार का North हिस्सा flood-prone zone है।
Kosi river को “Bihar की sorrow” कहा जाता है।

हर साल:

• Crops बर्बाद

• Roads टूट जाते हैं

• गरीब परिवार फिर से शून्य पर आ जाते हैं

Floods ने agriculture को stable industry बनने नहीं दिया।

5. Quality Education की कमी (Top तक तो अच्छा, Ground Level weak)

ये सच है कि Bihar के students topper list में top करते हैं।
लेकिन grassroot level पर:

• कई schools में teachers की कमी

• Modern learning tools की कमी

• Practical learning almost खत्म

• Poor school infrastructure

इसका परिणाम— लाखों students सिर्फ exam-oriented होते हैं, employment-ready नहीं बन पाते।

6. Healthcare System अभी भी बहुत पीछे

Bihar का per-capita health infrastructure अभी भी national average से कम है:

• Doctors की कमी

• Hospitals की कमी

• Village level पर अच्छे medical centres rare

Health poor हो तो productivity automatically low हो जाती है, economy slow हो जाती है।

7. Urbanisation का Low Level

India के fast-developing states में urban cities growth बहुत तेज है—
लेकिन Bihar में urbanisation सिर्फ 11–12% के आसपास है (national average ~31%).

कम urban areas मतलब:

• कम businesses

• कम robust market

• कम jobs

• कम modern lifestyle growth

रोजगार और development दोनों slow।

8. Corruption + Bureaucratic Delay

Investment आने में सबसे बड़ा barrier:

• बहुत paperwork

• Slow processing

• Corruption का fear

• Project clear होने में long delays

Business-friendly environment automatically weak हो जाता है।

तो क्या बिहार आगे नहीं बढ़ रहा? बिल्कुल बढ़ रहा है!

Past 15–20 years में Bihar में काफी improvement हुई है:

• Highways और expressways बन रहे हैं

• Village roads improve हुई हैं

• Electricity reach almost 100%

• Crime rate पहले से काफी कम हुआ

• Education enrollment बढ़ा

• नए medical colleges खुल रहे हैं

लेकिन Bihar की growth speed अभी भी Asian और Indian benchmarks से पीछे है क्योंकि दसियों साल की backwardness को catch-up करने में time लगता है।

Conclusion: Bihar backward नहीं है— Bihar को बस और support की ज़रूरत है

Bihar का potential आज भी India में highest माना जाता है।
लेकिन state को चाहिए:

• More industries

• Strong skill development

• Better flood control systems

• Aggressive urban growth

• Honest + long-term politics

अगर ये changes fast हो जाएं तो Bihar अगले 15–20 साल में India के top developing states में आ सकता है।
