CTET Paper 2 – Science | Quick Revision Notes


1. Respiration

Respiration वह जैविक प्रक्रिया है जिसमें भोजन से ऊर्जा प्राप्त की जाती है।

हमारे शरीर को विभिन्न activities के लिए energy की आवश्यकता होती है। यह energy मुख्यतः food molecules के breakdown से प्राप्त होती है।

Respiration के मुख्य प्रकार

  1. Aerobic Respiration
  2. Anaerobic Respiration

2. Aerobic Respiration

जब food का breakdown oxygen की उपस्थिति में होता है, तो इसे aerobic respiration कहते हैं।

Glucose + Oxygen → Carbon Dioxide + Water + Energy

Important

  • Oxygen required
  • अधिक energy release होती है
  • Carbon dioxide और water बनते हैं

Aerobic respiration मुख्यतः cells के mitochondria में पूरा होता है।


3. Anaerobic Respiration

जब food का breakdown oxygen के बिना होता है, तो इसे anaerobic respiration कहते हैं।

Yeast में

Glucose → Alcohol + Carbon Dioxide + Energy

Muscles में

Intense exercise के दौरान oxygen की कमी होने पर muscle cells में:

Glucose → Lactic Acid + Energy

लैक्टिक acid के accumulation से temporary muscle fatigue/cramps की अनुभूति हो सकती है।

Important: Breathing और cellular respiration एक ही प्रक्रिया नहीं हैं।


5. Human Respiratory System

मुख्य respiratory organs:

Nose → Nasal Cavity → Pharynx → Larynx → Trachea → Bronchi → Bronchioles → Alveoli

Main Function

Body में oxygen लेना और carbon dioxide को बाहर निकालना।


6. Nose

Nose:

  • Air को filter करता है।
  • Dust particles को रोकने में सहायता करता है।
  • Air को warm और moist करता है।

Nasal hair और mucus protective role निभाते हैं।


7. Trachea

Trachea को windpipe भी कहा जाता है।

यह air को lungs तक ले जाती है।

इसके walls में cartilage rings होते हैं, जो airway को open रखने में सहायता करते हैं।


8. Bronchi and Bronchioles

Trachea दो मुख्य branches में divide होती है:

Right Bronchus + Left Bronchus

Bronchi आगे छोटी branches में divide होकर bronchioles बनाती हैं।


9. Alveoli ⭐

Alveoli lungs में पाए जाने वाले tiny air sacs हैं।

Functions

  • Oxygen और carbon dioxide का exchange
  • Large surface area provide करते हैं।
  • इनके चारों ओर blood capillaries का dense network होता है।

Gas Exchange

Alveoli → Oxygen → Blood

Blood → Carbon Dioxide → Alveoli


10. Breathing Mechanism

Breathing में दो मुख्य processes हैं:

Inhalation

Air lungs के अंदर जाती है।

  • Diaphragm contracts और नीचे जाता है।
  • Chest cavity का volume बढ़ता है।
  • Air lungs में प्रवेश करती है।

Exhalation

Air lungs से बाहर निकलती है।

  • Diaphragm relax होकर ऊपर जाता है।
  • Chest cavity का volume कम होता है।
  • Air बाहर निकलती है।

11. Diaphragm

Diaphragm एक dome-shaped muscular structure है जो chest cavity और abdominal cavity के बीच स्थित होता है।

यह breathing में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाता है।


12. Respiration in Plants

Plants भी respiration करते हैं।

Important

Plants:

  • Day और night दोनों समय respiration करते हैं।
  • Oxygen का उपयोग कर सकते हैं।
  • Carbon dioxide release करते हैं।

Photosynthesis और respiration अलग-अलग processes हैं।

Photosynthesis

CO₂ + Water → Food + O₂

Respiration

Food + O₂ → CO₂ + Water + Energy


13. Respiration in Other Animals

Different animals में respiration के अलग-अलग organs होते हैं।

14. Respiration in Fish

Fish gills द्वारा respiration करती हैं।

Gills पानी में dissolved oxygen को absorb करने में सहायता करती हैं।


15. Circulation

Circulation body में blood के माध्यम से oxygen, nutrients, hormones और waste products के transport की प्रक्रिया है।

Human circulatory system के मुख्य components:

  1. Heart
  2. Blood
  3. Blood Vessels

16. Human Heart ⭐

Heart एक muscular organ है जो blood को पूरे body में pump करता है।

Human heart में four chambers होते हैं:

  1. Right Atrium
  2. Right Ventricle
  3. Left Atrium
  4. Left Ventricle

17. Right Side of Heart

Right side:

  • Body से deoxygenated blood प्राप्त करता है।
  • इसे lungs तक भेजता है।

Body → Right Atrium → Right Ventricle → Lungs


18. Left Side of Heart

Left side:

  • Lungs से oxygenated blood प्राप्त करता है।
  • इसे पूरे body में pump करता है।

Lungs → Left Atrium → Left Ventricle → Body


19. Valves

Heart में valves blood के backflow को रोकते हैं

इससे blood एक direction में flow करता है।


20. Blood

Blood एक connective tissue है।

इसके मुख्य components:

  • Plasma
  • Red Blood Cells (RBC)
  • White Blood Cells (WBC)
  • Platelets

21. Plasma

Plasma blood का liquid component है।

यह transport करता है:

  • Nutrients
  • Hormones
  • Carbon dioxide
  • Waste products
  • Proteins

22. Red Blood Cells (RBC)

RBC में haemoglobin पाया जाता है।

Function

मुख्यतः oxygen transport करना।

Haemoglobin oxygen से bind करके उसे tissues तक पहुँचाने में मदद करता है।


23. White Blood Cells (WBC)

WBC body की immune defence में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाते हैं।

Function

  • Pathogens से protection
  • Infection के विरुद्ध immune response

24. Platelets

Platelets blood clotting में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाते हैं।

Function

Injury होने पर bleeding रोकने में सहायता करना।


25. Blood Vessels

Blood vessels तीन मुख्य प्रकार की होती हैं:

  1. Arteries
  2. Veins
  3. Capillaries

26. Arteries

Arteries blood को heart से दूर ले जाती हैं।

सामान्यतः arteries में oxygenated blood होता है।

Exception: Pulmonary artery deoxygenated blood को heart से lungs तक ले जाती है।


27. Veins

Veins blood को heart की ओर लाती हैं।

सामान्यतः veins में deoxygenated blood होता है।

Exception: Pulmonary veins oxygenated blood को lungs से heart तक लाती हैं।


28. Capillaries

Capillaries बहुत छोटी और पतली blood vessels होती हैं।

Function

Blood और tissues के बीच:

  • Oxygen
  • Carbon dioxide
  • Nutrients
  • Waste products

का exchange करने में सहायता करती हैं।


29. Double Circulation

Humans में blood एक complete cycle में heart से दो बार गुजरता है।

Pulmonary Circulation

Heart → Lungs → Heart

Systemic Circulation

Heart → Body → Heart

इसी कारण इसे double circulation कहते हैं।


30. Pulse

Heart की pumping के कारण arteries में blood flow से उत्पन्न rhythmic expansion को pulse कहा जाता है।

Pulse rate को सामान्यतः beats per minute में measure किया जाता है।


31. Blood Pressure

Blood द्वारा blood vessel walls पर लगाया गया pressure blood pressure कहलाता है।

इसे सामान्यतः mmHg में व्यक्त किया जाता है।

Blood pressure में:

  • Systolic pressure
  • Diastolic pressure

शामिल होते हैं।


32. Excretion and Circulation

Circulatory system waste products को excretory organs तक पहुँचाने में मदद करता है।

उदाहरण:

CO₂ → Blood → Lungs → बाहर

Urea → Blood → Kidneys → Urine

Respiratory और circulatory systems मिलकर body cells तक oxygen पहुँचाने में सहायता करते हैं।

Carbon dioxide का reverse transport lungs तक होता है और फिर exhalation द्वारा बाहर निकलता है।

Artery vs Vein

  24. Arteries carry blood away from the heart.
  25. Veins carry blood towards the heart.
  26. Capillaries are the main sites of exchange between blood and tissues.
  27. Humans show double circulation.
  28. Valves prevent backflow of blood.
  29. Plants respire day and night.
  30. Cellular respiration mainly occurs in mitochondria.
