1. Diversity of Living Organisms & Classification
Classification क्या है?
Living organisms को उनकी similarities, differences और characteristics के आधार पर अलग-अलग groups में रखने की process को Classification कहते हैं।
Scientific Naming
हर organism को एक standard scientific name देने की process को Scientific Naming कहते हैं। इसका उद्देश्य organisms की पहचान को uniform बनाना है।
Plant Groups
1. Bacteria
- बहुत छोटे microscopic organisms होते हैं।
- कुछ bacteria useful होते हैं और कुछ diseases cause कर सकते हैं।
- इनके cells में true membrane-bound nucleus नहीं होता।
2. Thallophyta
- Body में true root, stem और leaf का clear differentiation नहीं होता।
- ये relatively simple plant forms हैं।
3. Bryophyta
- Simple land plants का group है।
- इनमें vascular system well developed नहीं होता।
4. Pteridophyta
- इनमें vascular tissues पाए जाते हैं।
- Reproduction में spores का important role होता है।
5. Gymnosperms
- इनमें seeds generally naked होते हैं।
- Seeds fruit के अंदर enclosed नहीं होते।
- Cones common reproductive structures हैं।
6. Angiosperms
- ये flowering plants हैं।
- इनके seeds fruit के अंदर enclosed होते हैं।
Animals
Animals को broadly दो groups में समझ सकते हैं:
Invertebrates
- Backbone नहीं होता।
- अलग-अलग phyla में कई प्रकार के animals आते हैं।
Vertebrates
- Backbone present होता है।
- Major groups/classes:
- Fishes
- Amphibians
- Reptiles
- Birds
- Mammals

2. Cell – Basic Unit of Life
Cell living organisms की basic structural और functional unit है।
Prokaryotic Cell
- True membrane-bound nucleus absent होता है।
- Membrane-bound organelles generally absent होते हैं।
- Bacteria इसका प्रमुख example है।
Eukaryotic Cell
- Well-defined nucleus present होता है।
- Membrane-bound organelles present होते हैं।
- Plants और animals की cells generally eukaryotic होती हैं।
Important Cell Structures
Cell Membrane
- Cell को surrounding environment से separate करती है।
- Substances के अंदर-बाहर movement को regulate करती है।
Cell Wall
- Mainly plant cells में present होती है।
- Cell को shape, strength और support देती है।
Nucleus
- Genetic material को contain करता है।
- Cell की activities को control करने में important role है।
Mitochondria
- Cellular respiration और energy production से संबंधित organelle है।
- इसे commonly Powerhouse of the Cell कहा जाता है।
Chloroplast
- Plant cells में पाया जाता है।
- Photosynthesis का प्रमुख organelle है।
- इसमें chlorophyll present होता है।
Vacuole
- Storage और water balance में important role।
- Plant cells में large central vacuole common है।
Endoplasmic Reticulum – ER
- Cell के अंदर synthesis और transport में important role।
- Rough ER और Smooth ER दो प्रमुख forms हैं।
Golgi Apparatus
- Cell products की processing, packaging और transport में important role।
Chromosomes
- Genetic information से जुड़े structures हैं।
- Nucleus में पाए जाते हैं।
- Genes chromosomes पर located होते हैं।

Golgi → Packaging
ER → Synthesis/Transport

3. Biological Organization & Tissues
Living organisms को different levels पर organize किया जा सकता है:
Cell → Tissue → Organ → Organ System → Organism
Plant Tissues
Meristematic Tissue
- Cells actively divide करते हैं।
- Plant growth में important है।
- Growing regions में पाए जाते हैं।
Permanent Tissue
- Mature cells से बने होते हैं।
- Generally specific functions perform करते हैं।
Xylem
- Roots से water और minerals को transport करता है।
Phloem
- Leaves में बने food को plant के दूसरे parts तक transport करने में important है।
Animal Tissues
Syllabus में चार major animal tissues important हैं:
1. Epithelial Tissue
- Body surfaces की covering और protection।
- Organs की lining में भी important।
2. Connective Tissue
- Body parts को connect और support करता है।
3. Muscular Tissue
- Movement में मदद करता है।
4. Nervous Tissue
- Signals को receive और transmit करता है।
- Control और coordination में important है।

4. Microorganisms, Diseases & Prevention
Syllabus में microorganisms से होने वाले diseases पर focus है।
मुख्य groups:
- Bacteria

- Protozoa
Bacteria
कुछ bacteria useful होते हैं जबकि कुछ pathogenic हो सकते हैं।
Viruses
- बहुत छोटे infectious agents हैं।
- Host cells के अंदर अपना multiplication करते हैं।
Protozoa
- Mostly single-celled organisms का group।
- कुछ protozoa diseases cause कर सकते हैं।
Disease Prevention
Disease prevention में important हैं:
- Personal hygiene
- Safe drinking water
- Proper sanitation
- Clean surroundings
- Safe food practices
- Appropriate preventive measures

Question में अगर microorganism और disease के बीच relationship पूछा जाए तो organism के type को carefully identify करें:

5. Life Processes
Syllabus में निम्न life processes important हैं:

Nutrition
Nutrition वह process है जिसके द्वारा organism food/nutrients प्राप्त करता है और उनका उपयोग करता है।
Plants में Nutrition
Plants photosynthesis के द्वारा अपना food बनाते हैं।
Basic idea:
Carbon dioxide + Water → Food + Oxygen
इस process के लिए light energy और chlorophyll important हैं।
Animals में Nutrition
Basic steps:
Ingestion → Digestion → Absorption → Utilization
6. Respiration
Respiration वह process है जिसमें food molecules से usable energy प्राप्त होती है।
Plants और animals दोनों में respiration होता है।
Basic Concept
Food में stored chemical energy को cells usable energy में convert करते हैं।
7. Transport
Plants
Xylem
Water + Minerals
Roots → ऊपर की ओर plant parts
Phloem
Food
Leaves → Plant के दूसरे parts
इसलिए याद रखें:
Xylem = Water
Phloem = Food
Animals
Transport system body में विभिन्न substances को transport करने में मदद करता है, जैसे:
- Oxygen
- Nutrients
- Hormones
- Waste products
8. Diffusion & Osmosis
Diffusion
Particles का movement generally:
Higher concentration → Lower concentration
की ओर होता है।
Osmosis
Water molecules का movement एक selectively permeable membrane के through होता है।

9. Excretion
Excretion body से metabolic waste products को remove करने की process है।
Plants और animals दोनों में waste removal के mechanisms होते हैं।

12. Control & Coordination in Animals
Animals में control और coordination के लिए मुख्यतः:

जो action conscious control में होता है।
Example:

जो action generally automatic होता है।

इसमें body किसी stimulus के प्रति बहुत जल्दी response देती है।

13. Chemical Coordination & Animal Hormones
Animals में hormones chemical messengers की तरह काम करते हैं।
Hormones body के कई functions को regulate करते हैं, जैसे:

- Development
इसलिए:
Nervous coordination → Nerve signals
Chemical coordination → Hormones
14. Reproduction in Plants & Animals
Reproduction वह biological process है जिसके द्वारा organisms अपनी species की continuity बनाए रखते हैं।

- Plant reproduction
- Animal reproduction
दोनों शामिल हैं।
15. Family Planning
Family planning responsible reproductive choices और family size planning से related है।
इसके objectives में शामिल हैं:
- Planned family

Safe sex practices का उद्देश्य:
- Sexually transmitted infections के risk को कम करना
