CTET Paper 2 – Science | Quick Revision Notes

1. Reproduction

Reproduction वह biological process है जिसके द्वारा organisms अपने जैसे नए organisms उत्पन्न करते हैं।

Importance

  • Species की continuity बनाए रखता है।
  • Organisms की संख्या बढ़ाता है।
  • Genetic information अगली generation तक पहुँचाता है।

2. Types of Reproduction

Reproduction मुख्यतः दो प्रकार का होता है:

  1. Asexual Reproduction
  2. Sexual Reproduction

3. Asexual Reproduction

इसमें सामान्यतः एक ही parent शामिल होता है।

मुख्य विशेषताएँ

  • एक parent
  • Gametes का fusion नहीं
  • प्रक्रिया relatively simple
  • Offspring सामान्यतः genetically बहुत similar होते हैं

प्रमुख प्रकार

Binary Fission

एक organism दो नए organisms में विभाजित हो जाता है।

Example: Amoeba

Budding

Parent body पर एक छोटा bud बनता है और बाद में अलग होकर नया organism बनाता है।

Examples: Yeast, Hydra

Fragmentation

Organism का body fragments में टूटता है और प्रत्येक fragment नया organism बना सकता है।

Example: Spirogyra

Regeneration

कुछ organisms अपने body parts से पूरा organism regenerate कर सकते हैं।

Example: Planaria

Vegetative Propagation

Plants में root, stem या leaf जैसे vegetative parts से नया plant बनता है।

Examples:

  • Potato → Stem
  • Ginger → Stem
  • Bryophyllum → Leaf
  • Sugarcane → Stem

4. Sexual Reproduction

इसमें सामान्यतः दो parents से genetic material आता है और male तथा female gametes के fusion से zygote बनता है।

Important Terms

Male Gamete → Sperm

Female Gamete → Ovum/Egg

Sperm + Ovum → Zygote


5. Reproduction in Plants

Flowering plants में flower reproductive structure है।

Male Reproductive Part

Stamen

इसके दो मुख्य parts:

  • Anther
  • Filament

Anther → Pollen grains produce करता है।

Female Reproductive Part

Pistil/Carpel

इसके मुख्य parts:

  • Stigma
  • Style
  • Ovary

Ovary → Ovules contain करती है।


6. Pollination

Pollen grains का anther से stigma तक transfer होना pollination कहलाता है।

Types

Self-Pollination: Same flower या same plant के flower के बीच।

Cross-Pollination: एक plant के flower से दूसरे plant के flower तक pollen transfer।

Agents

  • Wind
  • Water
  • Insects
  • Birds
  • Other animals

7. Fertilization in Plants

Male gamete और female gamete के fusion को fertilization कहते हैं।

Male Gamete + Female Gamete → Zygote

Fertilization के बाद:

  • Zygote → Embryo
  • Ovule → Seed
  • Ovary → Fruit

8. Human Reproductive System

Male Reproductive System

मुख्य organs:

  • Testes
  • Scrotum
  • Vas deferens
  • Urethra
  • Penis

Testes

Testes:

  • Sperm produce करते हैं।
  • Testosterone hormone secrete करते हैं।

9. Female Reproductive System

मुख्य organs:

  • Ovaries
  • Fallopian tubes
  • Uterus
  • Cervix
  • Vagina

Ovaries

Ovaries:

  • Ova/eggs produce करती हैं।
  • Estrogen और progesterone जैसे hormones produce करती हैं।

10. Fertilization in Humans

Human fertilization में:

Sperm + Ovum → Zygote

आमतौर पर fertilization Fallopian tube में होता है।

Zygote आगे divisions के द्वारा embryo में develop होता है।


11. Menstruation

यदि fertilization नहीं होता, तो uterus की lining टूटकर blood और tissue के साथ body से बाहर निकलती है।

इसे menstruation कहते हैं।

यह menstrual cycle का सामान्य हिस्सा है।


12. Puberty

Puberty वह stage है जिसमें body reproductive maturity प्राप्त करने लगती है।

Changes in Boys

  • Facial hair
  • Voice becomes deeper
  • Development of muscles
  • Testes और reproductive organs mature होते हैं

Changes in Girls

  • Breast development
  • Menstruation begins
  • Body shape changes
  • Reproductive organs mature होते हैं

इन changes में sex hormones महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाते हैं।


13. Hormones

Testosterone

मुख्यतः testes द्वारा produce होता है।

Functions:

  • Male secondary sexual characteristics
  • Sperm production में भूमिका

Estrogen

मुख्यतः ovaries द्वारा produce होता है।

Functions:

  • Female secondary sexual characteristics
  • Reproductive cycle में भूमिका

Progesterone

Female reproductive cycle और pregnancy को support करने में महत्वपूर्ण।


14. Adolescence

Adolescence childhood और adulthood के बीच की developmental stage है।

इस दौरान:

  • Physical changes
  • Emotional changes
  • Psychological changes
  • Hormonal changes

होते हैं।

CTET Point: Adolescents को accurate information, guidance और supportive environment मिलना चाहिए।


15. Reproductive Health

Reproductive health के लिए महत्वपूर्ण हैं:

  • Personal hygiene
  • Balanced diet
  • Physical activity
  • Correct information
  • Emotional support
  • Responsible behaviour

16. Control and Coordination

Body में अलग-अलग organs और systems के functions को coordinate और regulate करने के लिए nervous system और endocrine system महत्वपूर्ण हैं।

17. Nervous System

Nervous system body में information को receive, process और transmit करता है।

Main Parts

  • Brain
  • Spinal Cord
  • Nerves

18. Brain

Brain body का प्रमुख control centre है।

Major Parts

Cerebrum

  • Thinking
  • Memory
  • Intelligence
  • Voluntary actions

Cerebellum

  • Balance
  • Posture
  • Coordination of movements

Medulla Oblongata

  • Involuntary activities जैसे breathing और heartbeat को regulate करने में महत्वपूर्ण।

19. Spinal Cord

Spinal cord:

  • Brain और body के बीच messages transmit करता है।
  • कई reflex actions में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाता है।

20. Neuron

Neuron nervous system की basic structural and functional unit है।

मुख्य parts:

  • Cell body
  • Dendrites
  • Axon

Function

Nerve impulses को receive और transmit करना।


21. Reflex Action

किसी stimulus के प्रति quick और automatic response को reflex action कहते हैं।

Example

गरम वस्तु को छूते ही हाथ पीछे खींच लेना।

Reflex Arc

Receptor → Sensory Neuron → Spinal Cord → Motor Neuron → Effector


22. Endocrine System

Endocrine glands hormones release करती हैं।

Hormones chemical messengers की तरह कार्य करते हैं।

23. Important Hormones

Insulin

Pancreas से secret होता है।

Function: Blood glucose level को regulate करने में मदद करता है।

Thyroxine

Thyroid gland से secret होता है।

Function: Metabolism regulation में महत्वपूर्ण।

Adrenaline

Adrenal glands से secret होता है।

यह body को stressful/emergency situations के लिए तैयार करने में मदद करता है।

Growth Hormone

Pituitary gland से secret होता है और growth में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाता है।


24. Nervous vs Endocrine Control

Gibberellin

Cytokinin

  • Cell division

Abscisic Acid (ABA)

  • Growth inhibition
  • Stomatal closure में भूमिका

Ethylene

  • Fruit ripening

26. Tropism in Plants

Plants का directional growth response tropism कहलाता है।

Phototropism

Light की direction में growth।

Example: Shoot का light की ओर bend होना।

Geotropism/Gravitropism

Gravity के response में growth।

Root → Positive gravitropism

Shoot → Negative gravitropism

Hydrotropism

Water की direction में growth।

Thigmotropism

Touch के response में growth।

Example: Tendrils का support के चारों ओर लिपटना।
