यह नोट्स Bihar STET Biology की तैयारी के लिए Human Reproduction के महत्वपूर्ण concepts को सरल और exam-oriented भाषा में प्रस्तुत करते हैं। इसमें Male Reproductive System, Female Reproductive System, Gametogenesis, Menstrual Cycle, Fertilisation, Embryonic Development, Implantation, Pregnancy, Placenta, Parturition और Lactation शामिल हैं।


1. Human Reproduction – परिचय

मानव में reproduction मुख्यतः sexual reproduction है।

इसमें दो प्रकार के gametes भाग लेते हैं:

  • Male gamete → Sperm

  • Female gamete → Ovum/Oocyte

Gametes meiosis से बनने वाले haploid (n) cells होते हैं।

मानव में सामान्यतः:

  • Somatic cell → 46 chromosomes

  • Gamete → 23 chromosomes

  • Fertilisation के बाद zygote → 46 chromosomes

Gamete formation की प्रक्रिया को Gametogenesis कहते हैं।

इसके दो प्रमुख प्रकार हैं:

  1. Spermatogenesis

  2. Oogenesis

Male reproductive system के प्रमुख भाग:

  1. Testes

  2. Scrotum

  3. Epididymis

  4. Vas deferens

  5. Ejaculatory duct

  6. Urethra

  7. Penis

  8. Accessory glands


3. Testes

मानव पुरुष में एक जोड़ी testes होती हैं।

Testes के प्रमुख कार्य:

  • Sperm production

  • Male sex hormones का secretion

मुख्य male sex hormone:

Testosterone

Testes abdomen के बाहर scrotum में स्थित होते हैं।

Scrotum का महत्व

Scrotum testes का temperature body temperature से कुछ कम बनाए रखने में मदद करता है, जो normal spermatogenesis के लिए महत्वपूर्ण है।


4. Seminiferous Tubules

Testis के अंदर अनेक seminiferous tubules होते हैं।

यहीं spermatogenesis होती है।

इन tubules में मुख्यतः:

  • Germ cells

  • Sertoli cells

पाए जाते हैं।


5. Sertoli Cells

Sertoli cells seminiferous tubules में developing germ cells को support और nourish करती हैं।

इनका मुख्य कार्य:

  • Developing sperm cells को support करना

  • Spermatogenesis में सहायता करना

  • Testicular microenvironment को regulate करना


6. Leydig Cells

Testis के interstitial tissue में Leydig cells पाई जाती हैं।

इनका प्रमुख कार्य:

Androgens, विशेषकर testosterone, का secretion।

Testosterone male reproductive organs के development और spermatogenesis में महत्वपूर्ण है।


7. Male Accessory Glands

मुख्य accessory glands:

1. Seminal Vesicles

Seminal vesicles का secretion semen का महत्वपूर्ण भाग बनाता है और इसमें fructose जैसे nutrients होते हैं।

2. Prostate Gland

Prostate gland का secretion seminal fluid का हिस्सा बनता है।

3. Bulbourethral Glands

इन्हें Cowper's glands भी कहा जाता है।

इनका secretion lubrication में योगदान देता है।


8. Sperm

Sperm male gamete है।

एक mature sperm के प्रमुख भाग:

  1. Head

  2. Neck

  3. Middle piece

  4. Tail

Head

इसमें:

  • Nucleus

  • Acrosome

होते हैं।

Acrosome

Acrosome में ऐसे enzymes होते हैं जो fertilisation के दौरान egg coverings को penetrate करने में सहायता करते हैं।

Middle Piece

इसमें mitochondria अधिक मात्रा में होते हैं, जो sperm movement के लिए energy उपलब्ध कराने में मदद करते हैं।

Tail

Tail sperm को motility प्रदान करती है।


9. Semen

Sperm और male accessory glands के secretions से बनने वाले fluid को semen कहते हैं।

Semen में:

  • Sperm

  • Seminal vesicle secretion

  • Prostate secretion

  • अन्य accessory gland secretions

शामिल होते हैं।


10. Female Reproductive System

Female reproductive system के प्रमुख organs:

  1. Ovaries

  2. Fallopian tubes/Oviducts

  3. Uterus

  4. Cervix

  5. Vagina


11. Ovaries

महिला में एक जोड़ी ovaries होती हैं।

Ovary के प्रमुख functions:

  • Oocytes/ova से संबंधित reproductive function

  • Estrogen का secretion

  • Progesterone का secretion

Ovary में ovarian follicles पाए जाते हैं।

Ovulation के बाद ruptured follicle से corpus luteum बनता है, जो मुख्यतः progesterone secret करता है।


12. Fallopian Tube

Fallopian tube को:

Oviduct

भी कहा जाता है।

इसके प्रमुख regions:

  1. Infundibulum

  2. Ampulla

  3. Isthmus

Fertilisation का सामान्य स्थान

मानव में fertilisation सामान्यतः fallopian tube के ampullary region के आसपास, विशेषकर ampulla से जुड़े क्षेत्र में होता है।


13. Uterus

Uterus को सामान्य भाषा में गर्भाशय कहते हैं।

यह embryo के implantation और pregnancy के दौरान developing fetus के लिए environment प्रदान करता है।

Uterus की प्रमुख layers:

  1. Perimetrium

  2. Myometrium

  3. Endometrium

Endometrium

यह uterus की inner lining है।

Menstrual cycle के दौरान इसमें cyclic changes होते हैं।


14. Cervix

Cervix uterus का lower portion है।

यह uterus को vagina से जोड़ता है।

Cervical canal reproductive tract का एक महत्वपूर्ण passage है।


15. Vagina

Vagina female reproductive tract का muscular canal है।

इसके functions:

  • Sperm entry का मार्ग

  • Menstrual flow का passage

  • Childbirth के दौरान birth canal


16. Gametogenesis

Gametes के formation की प्रक्रिया को gametogenesis कहते हैं।

दो प्रमुख प्रकार:

Spermatogenesis

Sperm formation.

Oogenesis

Female gamete development/formation.


17. Spermatogenesis

Spermatogenesis testes के seminiferous tubules में होती है।

यह puberty के बाद सक्रिय रूप से शुरू होती है।

Basic sequence:

Spermatogonia → Primary spermatocyte → Secondary spermatocyte → Spermatid → Spermatozoa


18. Spermatogonia

Spermatogonia diploid germ cells हैं।

इनमें mitotic divisions के माध्यम से germ-cell population maintain और expand होती है।


19. Primary Spermatocyte

कुछ spermatogonia differentiate होकर primary spermatocytes बनाते हैं।

Primary spermatocyte:

2n

होता है।

यह meiosis-I में प्रवेश करता है।


20. Secondary Spermatocytes

Meiosis-I के बाद:

Primary spermatocyte → Secondary spermatocytes

बनते हैं।

Secondary spermatocytes:

haploid (n)

होते हैं।


21. Spermatids

Secondary spermatocytes meiosis-II करते हैं और:

Spermatids

बनते हैं।

Spermatids haploid होते हैं।


22. Spermiogenesis

Spermatids का morphological differentiation होकर mature spermatozoa बनना spermiogenesis कहलाता है।

Important

Spermatogenesis = complete process of sperm formation

Spermiogenesis = spermatids का spermatozoa में differentiation


23. Spermiation

Mature spermatozoa का Sertoli cells से seminiferous tubule के lumen में release होना spermiation कहलाता है।


24. Oogenesis

Female gamete development की प्रक्रिया को oogenesis कहते हैं।

यह spermatogenesis से कई महत्वपूर्ण तरीकों में अलग है।

Female germ cells का development fetal life में शुरू होता है और primary oocytes लंबे समय तक meiotic arrest में रह सकते हैं।


25. Oogonia और Primary Oocytes

Fetal development के दौरान oogonia proliferate करके primary oocytes बनाती हैं।

Primary oocytes meiosis-I शुरू कर सकती हैं लेकिन लंबे समय तक arrest की अवस्था में रह सकती हैं।

Birth के समय ovaries में बड़ी संख्या में primary oocytes मौजूद होती हैं।


26. Secondary Oocyte

Puberty के बाद प्रत्येक menstrual cycle में सामान्यतः एक dominant follicle से secondary oocyte ovulate होती है।

Secondary oocyte meiosis-II में आगे बढ़ती है, लेकिन meiosis-II का completion सामान्यतः fertilisation के बाद होता है।


27. Polar Bodies

Oogenesis में cytoplasm का unequal division होता है।

इससे:

  • एक बड़ा functional gamete

  • छोटे polar bodies

बनते हैं।

इसका उद्देश्य egg में cytoplasmic resources को बनाए रखना है।

29. Hormonal Control of Reproduction

Human reproduction में hypothalamus, pituitary और gonads के बीच hormonal regulation महत्वपूर्ण है।

मुख्य hormones:

  • GnRH

  • FSH

  • LH

  • Testosterone

  • Estrogen

  • Progesterone

  • hCG

  • Prolactin

  • Oxytocin


30. GnRH

GnRH = Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone

यह hypothalamus से secret होता है।

यह pituitary gland को:

  • FSH

  • LH

release करने के लिए stimulate करता है।


31. FSH

FSH = Follicle-Stimulating Hormone

Male में:

  • Spermatogenesis को support करता है।

Female में:

  • Ovarian follicles के growth और development में महत्वपूर्ण है।


32. LH

LH = Luteinizing Hormone

Male में:

  • Leydig cells को testosterone secretion के लिए stimulate करता है।

Female में:

  • LH surge ovulation trigger करता है।

  • Ovulation के बाद corpus luteum formation में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाता है।


33. Testosterone

Testosterone प्रमुख androgen है।

मुख्य functions:

  • Male reproductive organs का development

  • Male secondary sexual characteristics

  • Spermatogenesis में support

  • Male reproductive function का maintenance


34. Estrogen

Estrogens मुख्यतः developing ovarian follicles से संबंधित होते हैं।

Functions:

  • Female reproductive organs के development में भूमिका

  • Secondary sexual characteristics

  • Endometrial growth/proliferation में भूमिका

  • Menstrual cycle regulation


35. Progesterone

Ovulation के बाद corpus luteum progesterone का प्रमुख source होता है।

Functions:

  • Endometrium को implantation के लिए maintain करने में सहायता

  • Pregnancy support में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका

  • Menstrual cycle के luteal phase में प्रमुख hormone


36. Menstrual Cycle

Menstrual cycle reproductive-age females में cyclic reproductive changes की प्रक्रिया है।

एक textbook/typical cycle लगभग 28 days का माना जाता है, लेकिन वास्तविक cycles की length व्यक्ति-व्यक्ति में बदल सकती है।

Cycle के प्रमुख phases:

  1. Menstrual phase

  2. Follicular/Proliferative phase

  3. Ovulation

  4. Luteal/Secretory phase

NCBI के अनुसार menstrual cycle को ovarian और uterine changes के आधार पर अलग-अलग phases में समझा जाता है।


37. Menstrual Phase

Cycle के प्रारंभ में यदि fertilisation/implantation नहीं हुआ है तो estrogen और progesterone levels कम होने से endometrium shed होता है।

इससे:

Menstrual bleeding

होती है।


38. Follicular Phase

इस phase में ovarian follicles का development होता है।

FSH follicular development में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाता है।

Developing follicles estrogen produce करते हैं।

Estrogen endometrium के proliferation में महत्वपूर्ण है।


39. Ovulation

Mature follicle से secondary oocyte का release होना ovulation कहलाता है।

Ovulation मुख्यतः:

LH surge

से trigger होती है।

Typical 28-day cycle में ovulation लगभग middle of cycle के आसपास होती है, लेकिन exact timing सभी महिलाओं में समान नहीं होती।


40. Luteal Phase

Ovulation के बाद ruptured follicle:

Corpus luteum

में बदलता है।

Corpus luteum मुख्यतः:

Progesterone

secret करता है।

Progesterone endometrium को implantation के लिए suitable बनाए रखने में महत्वपूर्ण है।


41. Fertilisation न होने पर

यदि fertilisation नहीं होता:

  • Corpus luteum degenerates

  • Progesterone और estrogen levels गिरते हैं

  • Endometrium shed होता है

  • Menstruation शुरू होती है

  • नया cycle शुरू होता है


42. Fertilisation

Sperm और female gamete के fusion से diploid zygote बनने की प्रक्रिया को fertilisation कहते हैं।

Fertilisation का प्रमुख परिणाम:

Haploid sperm + Haploid oocyte → Diploid zygote

इससे chromosome number फिर से diploid हो जाता है।


43. Fertilisation का स्थान

मानव में fertilisation सामान्यतः:

Fallopian tube के ampullary region

में होती है।


44. Sperm और Ovum का Fusion

Fertilisation के दौरान sperm:

  1. Female reproductive tract में पहुँचता है।

  2. Egg coverings के पास पहुँचता है।

  3. Acrosome-mediated processes से egg को penetrate करने में सहायता मिलती है।

  4. Sperm और oocyte membranes interact करते हैं।

  5. Sperm entry के बाद mechanisms polyspermy को रोकते हैं।

  6. Male और female genetic material के fusion से diploid zygote बनता है।


45. Zygote

Fertilisation के बाद बनने वाली पहली diploid cell:

Zygote

कहलाती है।

Zygote में:

46 chromosomes

होते हैं, यदि सामान्य human chromosomal complement की बात करें।


46. Cleavage

Zygote में rapid mitotic divisions शुरू होती हैं।

इन divisions को cleavage कहते हैं।

इस दौरान embryo का total volume प्रारंभ में बहुत अधिक नहीं बढ़ता, बल्कि cells की संख्या बढ़ती जाती है।


47. Morula

Cleavage के बाद cells का compact ball-like mass:

Morula

कहलाता है।


48. Blastocyst

Morula के बाद fluid-filled structure:

Blastocyst

बनता है।

Blastocyst के प्रमुख components:

  • Trophoblast

  • Inner Cell Mass (ICM)

  • Blastocoel

Trophoblast

यह outer cell layer है और implantation तथा placenta formation में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाती है।

Inner Cell Mass

यह developing embryo बनाने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाता है।


49. Implantation

Blastocyst का uterus की endometrial lining में attach होकर embed होना:

Implantation

कहलाता है।

Implantation pregnancy establishment की महत्वपूर्ण घटना है।


50. Pregnancy

Fertilisation और implantation के बाद embryo का uterus में development होता है।

Human pregnancy की clinical/gestational duration लगभग 40 weeks मानी जाती है, जबकि fertilisation से developmental duration लगभग 38 weeks के आसपास होती है।


51. Placenta

Placenta pregnancy के दौरान maternal और fetal systems के बीच महत्वपूर्ण exchange interface है।

Placenta के प्रमुख functions:

  • Oxygen और nutrients का transfer

  • Carbon dioxide और waste products के exchange में सहायता

  • Hormonal functions


52. Placental Hormones

Placenta कई hormones produce करती है।

महत्वपूर्ण hormones:

hCG = Human Chorionic Gonadotropin

यह early pregnancy में महत्वपूर्ण hormone है।

hCG corpus luteum को support करता है ताकि progesterone production जारी रह सके।

54. hPL

hPL = Human Placental Lactogen

यह pregnancy के दौरान maternal metabolism और mammary gland development से संबंधित physiological effects में भूमिका निभाता है।


55. Umbilical Cord

Umbilical cord developing fetus को placenta से जोड़ती है।

इसके माध्यम से maternal-fetal exchange system के साथ blood circulation जुड़ी होती है।

ध्यान रखें:

Mother और fetus का blood सामान्यतः सीधे एक-दूसरे में mix नहीं होता।


56. Embryonic Development

Zygote → Cleavage → Morula → Blastocyst → Implantation

इसके बाद embryo में:

  • Cell differentiation

  • Tissue formation

  • Organ development

जैसी प्रक्रियाएँ होती हैं।


57. Germ Layers

Embryonic development के दौरान तीन primary germ layers बनती हैं:

  1. Ectoderm

  2. Mesoderm

  3. Endoderm

इनसे विभिन्न tissues और organs develop होते हैं।


58. Parturition

Pregnancy के अंत में baby के birth की प्रक्रिया:

कहलाती है।

59. Oxytocin

Oxytocin labour के दौरान uterine contractions को बढ़ाने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाता है।

Positive feedback mechanism के कारण contractions बढ़ सकते हैं।


60. Lactation

Childbirth के बाद mammary glands में milk production को lactation कहते हैं।
