The Human stomach has a very strong acidic environment that helps digest food, but this acid is so powerful that it could also damage the stomach itself. To protect against this, the stomach constantly regenerates its inner lining. In fact, a new protective mucus layer is replaced roughly every 3–4 days. This rapid renewal prevents the acid from breaking down the stomach tissue. Special cells produce mucus and bicarbonate that act as a barrier between the stomach wall and digestive acids, ensuring the organ can safely perform digestion without harming itself. Human stomach में बहुत तेज़ अम्ल (acid) होता है जो भोजन को पचाने में मदद करता है, लेकिन यह इतना शक्तिशाली होता है कि अपने ही ऊतकों को नुकसान पहुँचा सकता है। इससे बचाव के लिए पेट की अंदरूनी परत लगातार बदलती रहती है। लगभग हर 3–4 दिनों में इसकी नई सुरक्षात्मक परत बन जाती है। यह परत म्यूकस और बाइकार्बोनेट नामक पदार्थों से बनी होती है, जो पेट की दीवार और अम्ल के बीच एक सुरक्षा कवच का काम करती है, जिससे पेट खुद को नुकसान पहुँचाए बिना भोजन पचा पाता है।
